In mid 2017, Bryan Adams asked Rob Close and Jake Norman if they wanted to start a band. These were previous members of Springfield, Mo bands Population:0, and ApneA. They wanted to incorporate and embrace some biblical themes, and soon recorded Communion as a single track with Jake on vocals. Next, Ty Rangel joined the band as lead guitarist. Kim VanTassel soon joined as new vocalist.
